Sandrine's Story

A Mother’s Gratitude, A Daughter’s Healing

Eight-year-old Sandrine’s journey to healing began with a simple fall at school—but what followed was a painful, life-threatening infection that nearly took her sight and ability to eat.

From their home in Musenyi, her mother brought her to a health center, where she was given pain medication. But the relief was temporary. The infection worsened over months until Sandrine was rushed to Nyamata Hospital, where she arrived unable to see from her right eye or open her mouth to eat.

Thanks to the skilled care of Dr. Lee and the team at His Hands On Africa, Sandrine’s infection was treated, and she began to heal. Within days, she regained her sight and could eat again. If this clinic had not been there, she may have lost her front teeth—or worse, her life.

Today, Sandrine is thriving, and her mother’s heart is full of gratitude.
